Invoicy

Send professional invoices, set up recurring billing, log payments, and let us chase late clients with automated reminders.

Create clients

Before sending an invoice, add the client. Clients are shared with Clienty - add them in either app, they show up in both.

Required: name. Optional: email (needed to send invoices by email), billing address, currency, payment terms (default Net 30), and tags.

đź’ˇ Set the client's preferred currency once and every new invoice for them auto-fills with it.

Create an invoice

Drafts can be edited freely. Once you send an invoice, only status and notes can change - the line items lock so you have an audit trail.

  1. 1Click 'New invoice' from the dashboard or invoices list.
  2. 2Pick the client. The currency and due date auto-fill from their settings.
  3. 3Add line items: description, quantity, rate. Tax, discount, and a late-fee policy are optional.
  4. 4Pick a project if applicable (this enables the milestones + reimbursable receipts pickers).
  5. 5Preview, then either Save as draft or Save & Send. Send opens a PDF preview before the email goes out - you can still bail if something looks wrong.

Sending invoices

Clicking Send emails a polished PDF to the client. We also generate a public link they can view in a browser without signing in.

The public URL is unguessable and only the client can use it - no account needed. Useful for clients who prefer not to receive attachments.

Logging payments

When a client pays, open the invoice and click Add payment. You can:

  • Manual - record the amount, date, and method (bank transfer, cash, etc.).
  • Partial payments - log multiple payments as they come in. The invoice status flips to 'Partially paid' until the balance hits zero.
  • Late fee policy - purely informational. Shown on the invoice and the public view as 'Pay by due date or a X% late fee applies.' We never auto-charge it.

Recurring invoices (Pro)

For retainers and subscriptions. Create a template once and it generates a draft invoice on the schedule you pick.

Weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. We generate the invoice as a draft so you can review before sending. Pause anytime - even after downgrading to Free.

đź’ˇ Set the start date carefully - that's the date of the FIRST run, not when the template is created.

Automated reminders (Pro)

Three nudges go to the client automatically. You don't have to do anything.

  • 3 days before due - friendly heads-up.
  • On the due date - direct payment link.
  • 7 days late - firmer reminder.

Branding (Pro)

Settings → Invoice template lets you upload a logo, set a brand color, and add a footer (legal text, payment instructions, thank-you note). It's applied to every invoice PDF + public view.

What's on each plan

  • Free - 3 active invoices, manual reminders only, no recurring, no branding, no exports.
  • Pro - unlimited invoices, automated reminders, recurring templates, custom branding, reports + year-end ZIP export.
