Timely

Track time against projects. Turn the hours into invoices in two clicks. Timely is part of the Suite plan ($29/mo).

Start a timer

The simplest way to track time. The timer keeps running even if you close the tab.

  1. 1Click 'Start timer' from the dashboard or the timer page.
  2. 2Pick a project, optionally write a quick description, and hit go.
  3. 3Click 'Stop' whenever. The entry lands in your log with the duration filled in.
💡 Forgot to stop a timer? We email you after 8 hours just in case.

Or log time manually

Skip the timer when you'd rather batch-enter hours at the end of the day.

Pick a project, set the duration (or start + end times), tag billable or not, and add a description. Same fields the timer fills in for you.

Projects and clients

Time entries can be tagged to a project, a client, both, or neither. Tagging unlocks reporting and cross-app billing.

Set 'Budget hours' on a project (in Clienty) and you'll see a colored progress bar when invoicing against it - warning at 80% used, danger over 100%.

The log

Every entry, day by day, with totals. From here you can:

  • Edit any entry's duration, description, or project.
  • Delete mistakes (with confirmation).
  • Filter by project, client, billable-only, or a date range.

Turn hours into an invoice

The whole reason for tracking time in the first place.

  1. 1In Invoicy, click 'New invoice' and pick the client.
  2. 2Click 'Import hours from Timely' - pick the entries you want to bill (date range, project, billable-only filters).
  3. 3Each selected group becomes a line item with the hourly rate applied. The hours are marked billed and removed from your 'unbilled' total.
💡 Set an hourly rate on each project (or per-entry) and we do the math for you.

Reports

Total hours, billable vs. non-billable, hours by project or client. Export as CSV for accounting or weekly retros.

On Mondays we send a weekly digest email summarizing the previous week's hours per project.

Plan

Timely is part of the Suite plan ($29/mo) or Agency ($49/mo). There's no standalone tier - Timely's value really shows up when it's billing Invoicy invoices.
